Woman of Wing Chun, Sifu Pui Yee

Sifu Pui Yee’s Martial Arts journey began in 1993 when she started studying Wing Chun under the guidance of Sifu Morten Ibsen. 

In 1997 to 1999 she studied Wing Chun and Escrima full time in order to become a licensed instructor, and subsequently joined the instructor team as well as the administrative staff of a large Martial Arts association. Later she became the manager of this same organization.

In 2007 she interviewed and train with different masters in Hong Kong and China. Upon the meeting with Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung, Sifu Pui Yee was deeply impressed by his skills, the theory and practicability of Practical Wing Chun, that she decided to follow this system. The same year she became a closed door student of Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung, licensed instructor, instructor at HQ Hong Kong and the International Coordinator of WKL PWCI (Wan Kam Leung Practical Wing Chun International). Pui Yee has been assisting Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung on most of his overseas seminars and private classes since 2007. She is also currently head instructor at Practical Wing Chun Central, Senior instructor at the Practical Wing Chun HQ in Hong Kong and freelance instructor at Practical Wing Chun Shanghai.

Apart from her many years’ experience with Martial Arts, Sifu Pui Yee holds a Master Degree in East Asia Studies.
