Key Concept & Maxims of Wing Chun (Part 2)

"Through the strict drilling of Chiu Ying in Chi Sau and other drills, we learn that even though the drills themselves are somewhat artificial and unrealistic per se, we become so accustomed to being square-on and applying Chiu Ying that we are able to carry that over to actual application, perhaps under more realistic conditions. What we are essentially doing is drilling the concept deep into our own neural system, such that we are comfortable with and automatically correct our posture so as to remain square-on to our opponent’s centre of mass at all times, and to regain it almost instinctively if we momentarily lose that shape."
