Wing Chun's concept-based Footwork: Wing Chun Illustrated Magazine issue No.14

"It is my sincere belief, after having studied systems like Yong Chun Bai He (White Crane) and other ancestral systems to Wing Chun, as well as several other Fukinese systems, that this would most likely have been the original way of stepping, all the while keeping the 50/50 weight distribution as a fixed base. Some may argue that Wing Chun has been highly modified and also improved over the years and therefore the stepping is performed much differently nowadays. However, I have all the reasons to believe, by judging Wing Chun on its ancestral systems and above all from its theory and conceptual point-of-view and from putting it into practice, that this is a mistake and that the knowledge gradually became watered down due to various reasons."
