Cheong Kiu Gum Sao Technique Application of Sil Neem Tao Form

In the sparring training or fight, knee attacking technique is normal to be apply. And how in Wing Chun Chong Sao function to protect yourself and how the way to attack the opponent is the shortest time and distance with your stable battle stance. Cheong Kiu Gum Sao Technique Application of Sil Neem Tao, might assist you,  apply this technique to the opponent attack by his knee cap to your rib. From the Chong Sao position, Wu Sao turns to Cheong Kiu Gum Sao as below 45 degree to intercept his tight and go forward to push him away by Mun Sao. Yet, Mun Sao divert his incoming force as controling opponent's center line, goes with Thrusting Punch after pushing him away.

Pak Sao Training

Jimmy(L) allocate left hand on his chest as Aaron attack spot. Both are in forward stance and punch as attacking each other. When both opponents show as straight punch, both of their fist will never reach opponent's heart of center line.

Due to both opponents straight punch will not make the attack point on each other, Aaron (R) applies Pak Sao on Jimmy's right hand to create a new attack line.

William as Tian Hoe training partner, Tian Hoe practices Wing Chun Forward Tan Da Techniques. He intercepts William's hook punch (Red Target) by Tan Sao and Straight punch toward William's center line. As different height of partner, Tan Sao of Tian Hoe is drawing forward slightly higher as usual as defensive hand.

Turning Stance Bong Sao & Tan Da of Chum Kiu Form

Madam Soon in Turning Stance Bong Dao training with Richard (R) at Canopy Club, Setia Eco Park. Wing Chun is a martial art as designed for different human body structure. As in different body height of partners, Bong Sao will not be applicable wisely when you meet a partner who is taller than you, as a higher Bong Sao will get your shoulder muscle exhausted and alignment will not be diverted the incoming force. Therefore, Wu Sao does an important work to stop the incoming force toward Madam Soon. And you will see straight punch and Bong Sao make about 90 degree.
Madam Soon in Left Turning Stance Bong Sao as divert the first incoming force of Richard, she in Right Turning Stance Tan Da as divert the second incoming force and attack opponent at the same time. The technique of turning stance is in Chum Kiu Form, turning stance create a new attack line toward opponent and defense also.

Turning Stance Bong Sao VS Tan Sao & Sut Sao

In Wing Chun Turning Stance Bong Sao is meant to intercept and divert the force of the opponent away as not attacking your  center line. However,  when Kitson (L) Turning Stance Bong Sao in progress, the opponent (B) surely receive his force  also. Therefore, the opponent (B) may get  his force by turning his stance from Tan Sao or Sut Sao as receiving Kitson's force without affecting opponent (B) attack line to him as well. Practice more and often as below training technique in a very slow mood to feel the incoming force of opponent, sticking your hands with each other, keep your center line safely with Mun Sao, Leading Hand and Wu Sao, Protective Hand. Nevertheless, Turning Stance have to stay stable and in the relax mood as future training purposes.

Tan Sao to Sut Sao to Straight Punch/Palm - Video

Kitson intend to make a straight punch toward my heart, I draw my Tan Sao from center line and forward to intercept his straight punch and divert his attack line away and attack as straight punch or straight palm to chest or neck. This technique is created from Sil Neem Tao Form.

Forward Pak Da Training 进马拍打练习

Chua Sze Peng, Madam Soon and Richard Tan in Wing Chun Forward Pak Da Training. Person (A) versus two opponents, (A) get ready with Wing Chun Chong Sao and battle stance, first attack as straight punch by opponent (B), (A) has to move forward Pak Sao opponent (B) straight punch and attack at the same time to ooponent (B) and by the leading leg to get the direction to opponent (C) and support by the back leg to draw power to Pak Sao and Thrusting punches to targets. This training objective is to your flexibility of hands and foot works, Pak Sao techniques, speed and sensibility.

 

Wing Chun For Kids

Troy(L) and Taylor(R) are brothers. They are in the practice of Thrusting Punch Training now.
Wing Chun for kids is trained for self discipline, aggressive, obey to command, hands and foots to be more flexible. Both of them learned Wing Chun with Sifu Jiason Foong more than a year, although they are not attending lesson frequently and accordingly the schedule due to parent are not available, they able to perform Sil Neem Tao Form too.

Moreover, Taylor(R) is practicing Chong Sao Routine with elder sister, Tyra(L). He understands about the power of hand work draws from elbows and go from self center line to control opponent power and divert away.

Wing Chun Turning Stance Bong Sao pose - Leading hand as Bong Sao and second hand as Wu Sao. Turning Stance Bong Sao as divert away opponent attack line and Wu Sao as protection further action of him. Weight and center of gravity drive to back leg to lock the stance stably. Practice repeatedly everyday to get more improvement.

Wing Chun Stance

Wing Chun Stance "Yee Zi Keem Yong Ma" 二字鉗羊馬 (Front View) both feet are pointing to a point as a triangle shape. Both knees and tights face front.
 Wing Chun Battle Stance 戰步馬 (Right View) 
Weight of front leg as leading leg is light as easy to move forward, making direction, kicking techniques. Back leg is the center of gravity of the whole body weight.

Wing Chun Forward Stance Training

Forward Stance is a stance to keep your own weight stable when ready for battle. Front leg is light and majority weight and center of gravity goes to back leg. As front leg is a leading leg, it may easy to drive you toward to the opponent, go forward, turn to left and right even 180 degree turning. Wing Chun Stance keep a certain close distance in between the opponent and you to defense and attack at the same time. Front leg maintain as light, you may easily raise up your leg toward the opponent as FrontStamping Kick or Side Stamping even move forward to attack or turning stance to divert opponent's attack line and attack at the same time. Wing Chun Stance is applicable for any body size, weight, height and male or female. Practice more how to go forward slowly, experience and feel the Wing Chun Stance how does it keep you stable and power from the ground.

Thrusting Punch Training is part of the very foundation training in Wing Chun. This training is necessarily to be practice repeatedly every day, practice with different partners, no matter your partners is male or female, body weight and height. As you may feel different power from different partners, you will easily get notice and understand how to divert your partners energy which come towards you for the next training. Wing Chun handworks are basically come from the routine of Chong Sao. For Instance, the routine of Pak Sao, Tan Sao, Gan Sao, Gum Sao and Bong Sao, the routine of circle have to maintain close and small as to get your movement even faster.

Wing Chun is a special Kung Fu among southern and northern Kung Fu as it founded by a lady and it is known as a secret art during the ancient times. Yet, Wing Chun has well known in Malaysia nowadays when the famous movie of IP MAN. Movie does help as promoting and advertising in world wide. 
Wing Chun is very easy to learn but takes time to understand and can be very skillful in it. Wing Chun is very different from other martial arts because it does not have high kicks and flowery handworks. Wing Chun steps can be applied with different styles or techniques. It is not a dead art whereby Wing Chun practitioner don’t fight force against force. And the most important thing, one must know how to apply all these techniques. There is no pure or pure Wing Chun. Everything is the same. It’s 30% techniques and 70% mental strength. A practitioner needs time to understand what is right or wrong and must know how to apply it as mentioned every time here. After a long period of time, every practitioner will have his or her own styles in using Wing Chun.
On the other hand, the power of arms is important for all students no matter male or female. I have a special arms muscle training instruction in my classes in Malaysia. It may help you to get improve as well in thrusting punch, Tan Sao, Pak Sao, Gum Sao, Gan Sao and other Wing Chun hand works. Kindly follow the instruction as below :
Arm muscle training by holding dumbbell where only weight at bottom. Energy draws from elbow and stick to heart level, and straighten arm and back to heart repeatedly. Try to start with 30 times for each hand every day.
Wrist muscle training - part 1. By holding dumbbell where only weight at bottom. Energy draws from elbow and stick to heart level, and only move the wrist up and down. Try to start with 30 times for each hand everyday.
Wrist muscle training - part 2. By holding dumbbell where only weight at top. Energy draws from elbow and stick to heart level, and only move the wrist up and down. Try to start with 30 times for each hand everyday.

Neck Attacking Technique

Opponent will divert the straight punch away, so Wu Sao draws from the center line straight to the opponent neck yet stick to his hands to control his movement.
